The Industrial Hygienist acts as a subject matter expert in the prevention of workplace hygiene risks. They support employees, supervisors and managers in identifying, assessing and controlling chemical, physical and biological contaminants in industrial environments. They ensure compliance with regulatory standards, recommend field appropriate corrective measures and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of working conditions.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Identify, assess and control risks associated with chemical, physical and biological contaminants in the workplace.
- Plan and conduct sampling campaigns, analyze results and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and implement industrial hygiene programs (respiratory protection, hearing conservation, etc.).
- Participate in incident investigations, regulatory monitoring and assessments related to hygiene impacts.
- Develop and deliver training sessions in industrial hygiene and occupational health and safety.
- Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to improve working conditions.
- Prepare intervention reports, action plans and ensure documentation follow up.
- Support management and project managers in handling mandates related to industrial hygiene.

The Industrial Hygienist demonstrates strong flexibility to operate effectively in diverse industrial environments. They can manage multiple mandates simultaneously while maintaining a high level of rigor. Their analytical mindset and problem solving skills allow them to adapt quickly to unforeseen events and evolving field realities.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, environmental health, chemistry, biology or a related field.
- Additional training in occupational health and safety (OHS) or occupational hygiene is an asset.
- Any professional certification in industrial hygiene is considered an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in industrial hygiene or OHS.
- Field experience in complex industrial environments is highly valued.
