Health and Safety Officer
Ressources FL is currently looking for a Health and Safety Officer.
The site supervisor is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and controlling daily on-site activities to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. They act as the main point of contact between contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and the client or project management team.
Responsibilities:
Work Supervision
- Monitor work execution to ensure compliance.
- Conduct daily site inspections and document deviations or anomalies.
Safety Management
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards on site.
- Immediately report any hazardous situations and recommend corrective actions.
- Participate in safety meetings and promote best practices.
Coordination and Communication
- Act as a liaison between contractors, subcontractors, and project management.
- Participate in site meetings and prepare reports.
- Ensure teams have the necessary information to execute planned tasks.
Schedule and Progress Control
- Track work progress and compare it to the project schedule.
- Identify potential delays and propose mitigation measures.
- Compile and submit daily or weekly reports.
Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare inspection reports, deficiency lists, and non-compliance reports.
- Maintain up-to-date site records (photos, notes, anomalies, incidents).
- Verify completed quantities for progress payments.

Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of health and safety laws and regulations.
- Experience managing accident and disability cases.
- Ability to assess physical requirements related to functional limitations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written French.
Adaptability:
The site supervisor must demonstrate strong adaptability, including working on various sites both indoors and outdoors depending on operational needs. They must be able to manage complex situations with sound judgment and resolve conflicts effectively. Flexibility to travel frequently and respond quickly to on-site issues is essential while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Education
- Certificate in health and safety or any relevant training.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Site experience.
- Construction site safety training (asset).
Experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of on-site experience.
